I'm a young(ish), award winning creative director who has been working in the business of brand for the last ten years. I believe that great brands are the product of great ideas, and with the right strategic thinking behind them those ideas have the power to help continue pushing society forward.
Where I've been
For the past 10 years I've been part of the SomeOne agency family. Developing my approach and craft in the London office until 2018 when I was given the opportunity to help lay the foundations for our first southern hemisphere studio in Sydney, as creative director and joint partner.
What I believe
I've always had an eye on strategy and user understanding. Why create a brand if it's not there to service and satisfy the people it's been created for? In the world we live in today, nothing is static — trends come and go (very quickly), so it's important we continue to build and design for people. For the customers, not our clients. They are the litmus test for any successful piece of design.
I enjoy disruption and challenging conventions, because when you manage to do this, that's when people begin to pay attention — it's also much more fun!
And while something of the moment or 'in the now' might catch many eyes for the time being, the real power of brand lies in making work that continues to work and adapt to future challenges.
Every project I've been fortunate enough to work on has been the combined effort of brilliant minds — all people I count myself lucky to have met. Be they at SomeOne, with partner agencies, suppliers, or trusting (and sometimes admirably brave) clients, it's these combinations of collaborators that make the work so good.
